This bank will not help you if you get into a bind. They don't care about their customers whatsoever. We were originally told (Sorry, we didn't get her name, but she was polite) that if someone kept attempting to charge our account that we could freeze our account, so we wouldn't continuously be charged NSF fees. We thought we had it resolved with the outside company that attempted to charge our account the first time. So then came a second attempt from the same outside company to withdraw from our account (As well as a second NSF fee from UNB), so we decided to call and ask to have our account frozen to prevent any further attempts. After my wife spoke with a lady named Faye (My wife said she was very condescending), she stated that the only way to prevent these charges from continuously occurring was to pay a $25 fee to put a stop payment.

I've NEVER had a bank that WOULD NOT allow you to freeze your account to prevent this from happening. I would suggest you avoid this bank like the plague if this could be an issue for you, as it seems they're only out to get you and fill their pockets like every other major bank.

Also, on a minor note, the bank sent us the wrong type of checks that we chose, that should've been our first warning sign. However, we didn't attempt to get it corrected, after all it's just a check.

It seems as though we've been given the run around, so that way this bank can 1. Continuously charge our account NSF fees in order to profit like any another large chain bank would attempt to do, or 2. Tell us that the only way to stop it from continuously occurring is to pay $25 stop payment fee for every attempt.

You would think an independent bank would treat their customers with more respect than a major chain that's out to fee you to death (And even major chain banks allow you to freeze your account).

Off to a credit union we will go.
